Agricultural Technician - Mushroom Farm
Agricultural Technician will be working at our Mushroom Shed, located in Lakeland, Far North Queensland.
Qualifications required for this role
• Bachelor’s degree (Background in building, engineering, forestry, tree surgery or horticulture)
• High Risk Forklift license
• Front end loader license
• ChemCert Accreditation
• First Aid & CPR Training
• Minimum 1 year experience in the same or similar role
• Effective communication skills & basic computer literacy.
• Good grasp of basic maths.
Responsibilities:
• Assisting in developing new methods of planting, harvesting, and processing mushroom crops to achieve optimum growing potential.
• Coordinating and assisting with harvesting plans and production schedules.
• Monitoring environmental conditions – air, raw material temperature, and humidity during spawn running process and adjust air temperature.
• Assisting packing crew harvesting mushrooms as per customer specification and product quality requirements.
• Adhering to health, safety and hygiene standards in accordance with Company rules and Regulations.
The position is available for immediate start.
Full-time position
Range Salary $73,120 - $75,000 per year (salary is negotiable)

Lakeland is located 3 hours North of Cairns in the state of Queensland, Australia.
Lakeland has a pub, roadhouse and small shop in town. The nearest grocery store and medical facilty is located in Cooktown (approximately 1 hour drive from Lakeland).

If you have your own vehicle, Lakeland is approximately:
3 hours drive North from Cairns,
2 hours drive North from Mareeba,
1 hour drive South from Cooktown.
Alternatively, there are regular buses that run between Cairns and Cooktown:

Yes, however, mobile service is limited to providers on the 3G and 4G Telstra network only.
For example: Telstra, Belong, Boost, ALDImobile etc

The Lakeland Caravan park does provide internet for guests.
The Town Hall also provides internet for public use.
Some accommodation in town may have internet, however, this is not guaranteed.
